Why are there 4, instead of 5, FULL DAYS of classroom instruction?
- With a longer weekend, students have more time to rest, participate in extracurricular activities, engage in famiily time & complete homework.
Students return to school on Monday well-rested & cognitively alert which improves their academic success.
What activities are available?
There are many weekly and monthly activities such as swimming lessons, bowling, roller skating, golf, musical theater, science fairs, dances, and community service opportunities.

Does the school have a Parent Teacher Association (PTA)?
Our PTA holds an important part in the heart of our school. PTA meetings are held monthly.
Is your school & curriculum religious based?
No. Our families love the idea that we are a diverse community with all-inclusive curricula.
How big are the class sizes?
Class sizes are kept at a maximum of 10:1 student/teacher ratio.
Is there a graduation ceremony?
Yes. All K & 8th graders attend a “Moving Up” Celebration, and 12th graders participate in the official Commencement Graduation Ceremony.
What’s the likelihood of my child attending college after graduation from Greater Castle Academy School?
Our graduates have been awarded Merit-Based Scholarships & Grants from colleges and universitites across the U.S.
Our Captstone Program equips students with a portfolio of competitive coursework, standardized testing, CLEP, SAT, Course Certifications, Community Service and Extra-curricula Accolades all listed on their Official High School transcript.
What about socialization?
We are a small private education facility, but our scholars have huge opportunities to socialize across a broad spectrum of generations.
How secure is the building?
All doors remain locked at all times. At the front door there is a door bell that rings inside the main classrooms.
Is the building handicap accessible?
Yes, at the front-side entrance of the building.
What does a kindergartners day look like?
A full-time kindergartner attends 4 days inclusive of core classes, free-time play, reading/library time, Art, lunch & recess.
A Kindergarten Fact – Students who begin in kindergarten at Greater Castle Academy excel with ease through the primary grades armored with knowledge & confidence.
How do I let our current school know I want to change schools?
Once registered with Greater Castle Academy, you will receive a letter on Department of Education letterhead to present to the exiting school, stating your child is registered with Greater Castle Academy for that school year. You will not need another letter UNLESS your child leaves Greater Castle Academy to attend another school, whether it’s a public, private or charter institution.
What are the dates for the Semesters?
Semester 1: September – January
Semester 2: February – June
Do you track attendance and grades?
Yes. We keep track of attendance and report our registered scholars aggregate attendance to the Department of Education.
Report Cards are distributed at the end of Semester I & II.
How do payments work?
Enrollment Fees are due upon registration, which covers course textbooks & workbooks.
Course Fees cover the entire school year and can be paid in full, or with 2, 6, 10 or 12 monthly payment plan options.
NOTE: Dependent upon course selections, families may need to purchase additional items.
Are there refunds, after enrollment?
Application and Enrollment fees are due upon registration and are Non-Refundable. Course Fees are fully refundable before August 15 due to cancellation by Family/Parent. Thereafter August 15, ALL Semester I Course Fees will be charged and due immediately upon the date of cancellation.
If you miss a few days or weeks of school, how does the cost work?
The Course Fees remain the same. Course Fees are divided evenly over the monthly payment plan you selected.
Are your Educators all professional teachers?
Our Scholar Educators are hand picked based on their love and commitment to our scholars first. They range from Professional Educators, College/University Graduates, Business Owners, Community Scholars/Activists and/or Parents with valuable expertise complementary to our Greater Castle Academy mission.
