*CELEBRATING 11 YEARS OF EXCELLENT EDUCATION*
What about socialization?
Even though we are a small education facility, our students have ample opportunities to socialize. Socialization is meant to prepare children for the real world; this means learning to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds. Our students socialize across a broader spectrum of generations interacting with adults, older students, younger students and their peers. We are very proud of our students at Greater Castle Academy for achieving this positive skill that is sought out by many colleges and universities.

Why are there only 4 FULL DAYS of classroom instruction?
- With a longer weekend, students have more time to rest and engage in extracurricular activities
- Being well-rested can lead to better attendance during the week. This, in turn, can lead to improved academic performance.
- The extra day gives students, families, and staff the opportunity to maintain a balanced lifestyle.
- Students return to school on Monday cognitively alert and open to learning.
What activities are available?
There are many weekly and monthly activities available for student participation such as tennis, swimming lessons, bowling, karate, roller skating, golf, theater, music, a multitude of co-ops, science fairs, dances, community service, just to name a few.
Does the school have a Parent Teacher Association (PTA)?
Our PTA holds an important part in the heart of our school. Each family must have at least 1 PTA volunteer. Select one or more positions you’d like to do for the school year, including volunteering in a classroom.
PTA meetings are held once per month; or more for an upcoming event.
Is your school & curriculum religious based?
No. Our families love the idea that we are a diverse community with all-inclusive curricula. We welcome every student regardless of religious belief, culture, race, gender, geographic location, learning style or ability. We celebrate our diversity as teachable moments of respect.
How big are the class sizes?
We do our best to keep all class sizes at 5:1 with a maximum of 10:1 student/teacher ratio.
Is there a graduation ceremony?
Yes. All K, 8th and 12th graders are invited to participate in an official commencement ceremony with classmates at Greater Castle Academy and fellow students within the surrounding communities. This is momentous occasion for all graduates and families.

Can my child get into college after attending a non-public school?
Yes. Our students who have been awarded multiple college-level merit scholarships & grants. We create a portfolio of classwork, transcripts, standardized testing, CLEP, SAT and other electives.
Students enrolled in our extensive Diploma Program receive Full-Service guidance counseling in curricula planning during the high school years as well as assistance with future plans after graduation. The Capstone educational modality is completed with an accredited transcript upon graduation.
Research has shown that students from non-public schools, on average, do better than the national average on standardized achievement tests for the elementary and secondary grade levels; and above the national average on both their SAT and ACT scores.
How secure is the building?
All doors remain locked at all times. At the front door there is a door bell that rings, with volume control, in all classrooms. No one is allowed in unless there is a scheduled appointment or prior acknowledgement of the staff.
All students, families, & guests sign in when entering the building and sign out when exiting.
Is the building handicap accessible?
Yes, at the front and side entrances.
How do I let our current school know I want to change schools?
Once registered with Greater Castle Academy, you will receive a letter on Department of Education letterhead to present to the exiting school, stating your child is registered with Greater Castle Academy for that school year. You will not need another letter UNLESS your child leaves Greater Castle Academy to attend another school, whether it’s a non-public, public, private or charter institution.
